Obituary of Dorothy H. MacQueen
Dorothy Henderson MacQueen, age 92, of Media, PA, and formerly of Upland, PA, died Friday, March 28, 2014. Mrs. MacQueen was born in Rochester, PA, on August 7, 1921, to the late Charles A. and Dorothy J. Henderson. She attended Rochester schools and received her B.A. degree in Journalism from West Virginia University.
Mrs. MacQueen was the wife of the late Rev. David A. MacQueen, former pastor of Upland Baptist Church. She shared her husband's ministry at Upland Baptist Church, and served on the board of Ellen Cushing Junior College. She also taught Sunday School for many years and served in leadership roles in the Women's Union. In the community, she was active in the restoration of the Caleb Pusey House and served as a tour guide, until 2011. After her children were grown, she was employed as a substitute teacher in the Upland schools and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. She also was a copywriter for the Weinberg's Department Store in Manoa, PA.
Mrs. MacQueen was an avid reader and writer with a passion for the theater and film.
Mrs. MacQueen was preceded in death by her brother, Charles A. Henderson, Jr.

Grandchildren: Kendell M. Timmers of Jersey City, NJ, Allison M. Byron of St. Paul, MN, David A. MacQueen, III of Tampa, FL, Rebecca A. Byron of Washington, DC, Jessica P. MacQueen of San Francisco, CA and Catherine M. MacQueen of Philadelphia, PA.
