As social studies chairperson at a local school, I arranged for students to visit regional historic sites. Dorothy was my contact person for the Caleb Pusey grounds for many years. She and her husband were always gracious and accommodating to whatever our needs or desires to create a meaningful experience. Years later, when a niece from Spain was visiting with her husband and children,and wanted to tour the Pusey estate, Dorothy, even though retired then, created a personal tour and visit that was most pleasing and memorable. She was devoted to that property and was always friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Most assuredly, she was a wonderful mother who had a positve impact on her children, in the same way she did for the hundreds of our students whom she hosted. She surely will be missed, but her effect will long be remembered.
