OBITUARY INFORMATION
Tony D'Amico, "Tony the Barber", age 83 years, of Brookhaven, PA, died on Thursday June 27, 2013, at Taylor Hospital.
Tony was a graduate of Eddystone High School, class of 1948, and was a barber for 71 years. A veteran of the United States Army, Tony was stationed in Germany where he was an assistant boxing coach.
As a young boy, his brother, Domenic, taught him the shoemaker trade. He shined shoes with his father, Antonio, until he learned the barber trade. He began his career as a barber at the age of twelve, and continued throughout his life.
A resident of Brookhaven, PA, for 52 years, Tony was an active member of the Church of Our Lady of Charity. He was an avid sports fan and loved playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (nee Lewis) D'Amico; 3 sons: Tony III of Boothwyn, PA, Michael (Joanne) of Boothwyn, PA, and David (Monica) D'Amico of West Chester, PA. 1 daughter: Anne Bilinski of Texas. Grandchildren: Daniel, Esther, Simona, Anthony IV, Danielle, Caroline, Joseph, Alex, Emily, and Zachary. 1 sister: Rita Butler of Wilmington, DE. Tony was pre-deceased by his parents, Marianna (Delissue) and Antonio D'Amico and five siblings: Pearl Poccynek, Dominic D'Amico, Jean Bell, John D'Amico and Elizabeth Jane Connor.
