Obituary of Doris M. Riddell
Doris (nee Mullestein) Riddell, A Woman of Faith
Doris (nee Mullestein)Riddell, age 100, of Middletown Twp., PA, and formerly of Downingtown, PA, died Saturday, February 21, 2015. Mrs. Riddell was born March 8, 1914, in New York City, NY. She was the daughter of Swiss immigrants,Christoph and Hulda L. Mullestein. Raised in New York and New Jersey, Mrs. Riddell was a graduate of Memorial High School, Burlington, NJ, and attended Columbia University, NY. She came to Chester County, PA in 1952, and has been a resident of Delaware County since 1987.
Mrs. Riddell worked with CertainTeed, Valley Forge, PA, as an Executive Secretary.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of West Chester, PA, Downingtown Baptist Church, and Middletown Presbyterian Church, Elwyn, PA. At the time of her death, Mrs. Riddell was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Upper Darby, PA. In addition, Mrs. Riddell attended Community Bible Study, West Chester, PA, and was a corporation member of America's Keswick, Whiting, NJ, as well as a founding supporter of World Impact, Chester, PA.
Mrs. Riddell was deeply devoted to her family and friends, and displayed her father's artistic sense of design, as well as her mother's flair for beauty and refinement.
Doris was the wife of the late Lewis T. Riddell, who died in 1993; sister of the late William E. "Whitey" Mullestein, retired chairman of Lukens Steel Company; and step-grandmother of the late Michael Robinson.

Great-Nieces: Rebecca Shuford of Bethesda, MD and Virginia Shuford Friere (Johnny) of New York, NY
Great-Great-Niece: Martina Friere of New York, NY
Step-Granddaughter: Michelle Mahoney Beck (Ned) of Lititz, PA
Memorial Service: Saturday 11:00 AM, at Granite Farms Estates, 1343 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA
Interment: Will be private
