Obituary of Julian Messick

Julian Messick, Jr. "Moose", age 81, of Maris Grove, PA, and formerly of Wallingford, PA, died at home on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Mr. Messick had been a resident of Wallingford, PA, before moving to Maris Grove, PA, 7 months ago. Mr. Messick was a 1955 graduate of the Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University), and a 1962 graduate of Polytech Institute of Brooklyn, NY. He completed his military career with the rank of Captain, and as the Commanding Officer of the 34th Chemical Company, Fort McClellan, Alabama. Mr. Messick worked with the International Center for Diffraction Data, for 30 years, serving as the General Manager and Corporate Secretary of the International Center, until his retirement in 1994. He was formerly employed with the Atlantic Refining Company, for 10 years. Mr. Messick enjoyed all sports, especially his grandchildren participating in local and school sporting events. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing at the Wildwood Golf and CC. Mr. Messick was a member of Upland Baptist Church. He was also a member of Prospect Masonic Lodge #578 F&AM, the American Crystallographic Association and the American Society for Testing Materials. He was predeceased by his parents the late Hattie and Julian Messick and his sister the late Mary Messick Bonavita.
