Obituary of Joseph R. Scharr
Joseph Robert "Bob" Scharr, 84, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Delaware County, died Aug. 6 at home.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of William H. and Odette Maure Scharr.
Reared in the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby, he resided in Broomall and Holland, Bucks County before moving to Boca Raton in 1972.
Mr. Scharr served in the U.S. Army, then attended Peirce School of Business Administration in Philadelphia before launching a career in sales.
He was an avid golfer who always enjoyed having the first tee time of the day. Mr. Scharr was an accomplished gardener and was especially proud of his prized avocado trees.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Paul Scharr.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Tomasulo Scharr; his children, Cynthia Scharr (Joseph Cliffe), Patricia Constantakos (David), Joanne Scharr, Robert M. Scharr, Christine Gentile; brothers, William H. Scharr Jr., Jean Scharr, Richard Scharr; sister, Odette Goodsite; eight granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
Mass: Was held at St. Joan of Arc Church, Boca Raton.
Graveside service: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, at the convenience of the family.
