Obituary of David A. Kauffman

David A. Kauffman, 61 Dave Kauffman of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Aston, PA, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. The son of the late Raymond and Edna Short Kauffman, Sr., Dave was a 1971 graduate of Sun Valley High School. He earned an associate degree in electronics from Temple University, in 1973. Dave worked for Mars Electronics from 1975 - 1991, and retired from Zober Industries, in 2012. For the past fifteen years and with rarely a complaint, Dave fought a courageous battle against progressive heart and lung disease, which were caused by treatment for Hodgkin's disease, earlier in his life. Most of all, Dave was a family man. From the day he saw a photo of his soon-to-be adopted daughter Kerry, before she arrived from Korea, he loved her with all of his heart and was proud to be her dad. He enjoyed dinners out and activities with his wife and daughter, an occasional pizza and a beer, detective and car repair television shows, computers and electronics, hiking and walking, and playing with his grand-dog Suzie-Q (whose companionship provided him with fulfillment and purpose during the last year of his life.) Although he was a quiet man, Dave garnered the friendships of many with his kind and caring attitude and calm demeanor.
