Obituary of Doris M. Schaefer

Doris May (Maines) Schaefer, age 89, a longtime resident of Wallingford, Pa, and formerly of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Sunrise of Newtown Square. Born June 11, 1925, in Moorestown, NJ, Doris was the daughter of the late Frank Nelson and Alice M. (Willis) Maines, of Norwood, PA. Doris was a graduate of Nether Providence High School (now Strath Haven High School), and attended the Modernello Beauty College in Philadelphia, PA. During World War II, Doris worked with the Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, in the electrical department. Doris was a member of Old Union Methodist Church, Rose Valley, PA. Doris loved her family, caring for her home and especially enjoyed ice skating. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Edward Schaefer, who died in 1989. SURVIVORS Son: Gary Joseph Schaefer of Westtown, PA; Granddaughter: Loren Staci Schaefer, Philadelphia, PA; Grandson: Marc Joseph Schaefer of Coatesville, PA.
