Obituary of C. Edward Snyder
C. Edward Snyder, 96, of Wallingford, PA, and formerly of Roxborough, PA, went home to be with his Lord and his Love, Elinor on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Edward and Emma Barndt Snyder. He grew up in Roxborough, PA, and graduated at the age of 16 from Roxborough High School. He immediately went to work as a clerk for PNB Bank. While he worked he attended Wharton School of Business, and after graduation he continued his education at Rutgers University, completing his Masters of Business in 1959. Ed had an extensive career at PNB, and when he retired at the age of 70, after 53 years of service, he was recognized as the longest person ever employed in the history of the bank.
Ed served in the Army Signal Corp during WWII, and was stationed in London, England.
Ed married the love of his life, Elinor Haigh in 1951, and they were never separated after that moment.
Ed was an avid golfer, achieving 2 hole-in-ones in his lifetime.
Ed served on the Board of Managers of the American Missionary Fellowship. He is a member of Ardmore Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Wednesday morning Bible study that Elinor taught.
Ed and his wife loved to travel, and reading was his favorite pastime. Ed served the Lord in every aspect of his life.
Ed was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Elinor Haigh Snyder who died November 2012.

Two daughters: Randi (Victor) Wizniak and Blaik Dixon
Five grandchildren: Taura Wizniak, Kurt (Sim) Wizniak, Tess Wizniak, Kelly Dixon and Leah Dixon
Sister-in-law: Jessie Foyle
Also survived by six nieces and one nephew
