Obituary of Dwain L. Knepper

Dwain L. Knepper, age 90, of Alliance, Ohio, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Maris Grove Senior Living.

Dwain was born in East Canton, Ohio, later moving to Alliance, Ohio and graduating from Alliance High School.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio - where he was a member of the Navy ROTC, was involved with the rifle team and participated in the marching band. 

Following college graduation, and completion of service with the Navy, Dwain relocated with family to Park Forest, Illinois as a Systems Analyst work in Chicago.  He was a devoted member Hope Lutheran Church, Park Forest, Illinois where he was active with the youth groups and the music department.  Upon relocating with family to Wallingford, PA in the early 1980's - he was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Dwain was active with the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scoutmaster, then commenced into Leadership Counsel and training while living in Illinois. Dwain was a craftsman woodworker and a leatherworker.  He enjoyed trains, camping with his family and traveling.  He and his late wife Shirley, were avid bowlers participating in bowling leagues for many years.

Most of all, Dwain was devoted to his family and cherished spending time together.

Son of the late Lowell and Sereta (Haney) Knepper; Father of the late Kathryn Ann Knepper; Brother of the late Dale Knepper.

Survivors:

Sons: Michael (Inolca) Knepper of Folsom, PA, Kevin (Gayle) Knepper of Florence, KY, and John (Helen) Knepper of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Grandchildren: Ashley, Christopher, Bryan, Emily and Allen

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Saturday, April 13th after 3:00-4:30PM at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342

Military Honors will be held at 4:15PM at the chapel.
