Obituary of Frances J. Michaliszyn
Frances Jean (Smith) Michaliszyn, of Middletown Twp., PA, formerly of Brookhaven, PA; born November 30, 1933 in Feds Creek, Kentucky and passed away with her husband by her side on May 19, 2016. She graduated from Phelps High School in Kentucky and served in the United States Women’s Army Corps from 1952 to 1954. She was an avid bowler, golfer and rarely missed Tuesday night bridge club. Trips to the campground and beach in New Jersey made for lasting friendships and years of warm memories. After retirement, Jean and Al explored the US in their RV, including making trips to Kentucky, where they visited with her family.
Jean and her husband, Al, were the founders of AMF Auto Clinic in Brookhaven, PA, where she served as bookkeeper for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Sidney and Elizabeth Smith; sisters Della Mae Baker, Pauline Stump and Jacqueline Smith; and her son Robert Alan Michaliszyn.
She is survived by her husband Alex Michaliszyn; children Elizabeth Ann (Dennis) Cramer, Diane (Thomas) Bienkowski, Alex (Cathy) Michaliszyn Jr and Michael (Jane) Michaliszyn. Her greatest joy was spending time with her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Michaliszyn is also survived by her siblings; brothers Robert (Lucy) Smith, Johnny (Carolyn) Smith; sisters Anna Marie (Otto) Chapman, Patricia Rose (Kennie) Wagner, Billie Jane (Roy) Hatfield, Betty Sue (Nicholas) Proietto, Virginia Lee (Ed) Hawkins and Audrey June (Tom) Smith.
Funeral Mass: Monday at 11:00AM at the Church of Our Lady of Charity, 231 Upland Rd. Brookhaven, PA 19015
Visitation: Monday after 9:30AM at the church
Interment: Private at Mt. Hope Cemetery
