Obituary of Joseph H. Owsley, Jr.

Joseph H. “Joe” Owsley, Jr., age 90, of Aston, PA, peacefully went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving family at home on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Joseph was born and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Mr. Owsley was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in Aston, PA. Joe was employed with DuPont Industries for 20 years, retiring in 1992. As a young man, Joe was athletic. He played softball and coached Aston AA Basketball. Mr. Owsley enjoyed golfing and bowling, as well as traveling and square dancing with his wife. He was passionate about photography and took pictures everywhere he went, especially at family gatherings and all of his grandchildren’s activities. Joe liked driving with family to Lancaster for lunch at Miller’s Buffet. He was devoted to his family and cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Devoted husband for 66 years to the love of his life, the late Mabel June Harsch Owsley, who died November 2015. Father of the late Richard J. Owsley, brother of the late Mary Frances Pride and Knox Owsley. Survivors: Daughters: Donna L. (Joseph) O'Berg and Barbara J. (Joseph) Barbosa Sons: Joseph W. (Karen) Sr., Steven P. (Susan), Randal A. (Jane), and Jeffrey S. (Karen) Owsley Daughter-in-law: Julie Owsley Brother-in-law: Sheldon Wildermuth 15 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren Also survived by nieces and nephews Funeral Service: Thursday at 11:00AM at Mt.
