Obituary of Charles W. Miller

Charles W. Miller, age 89, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Sunrise Nursing Home of Granite Run. Mr. Miller was born in Philadelphia, raised in Folcroft and graduated from Ridley High School. He was a resident of Brookhaven for the last 54 years. Charles was a Master Plumber for 35 years for ARCO until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Miller was a WWII US Navy Veteran who served in the South Pacific on the USS Menominee. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific 3 Bronze Stars, Victory Medal World War II, Philippine Liberation Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal. Charles was a life time volunteer and founding member of the Brookhaven Fire Company, and a volunteer fireman for Green Ridge Fire Company, Aston. Mr. Miller was also on the board and a founding member of the Brookhaven Swim Club. Charles was a member of the Masonic Concord Lodge #625 F & AM and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and boater and spent summers in Strathmere, NJ. He is the son of the late Charles D. and Anna (McIntyre) Miller. SURVIVORS: WIFE of 62 years: Margaret E. Mulcahy 4 DAUGHTERS: Margaret Ann Bartos and her husband Stephen of Chester County, Susan M. Miller and her husband Samuel Paleschic of Brookhaven, Patricia M. Morgan and her husband Thomas of Aston, Claire B.
