Obituary of John W. Zwijsen

John W. Zwijsen, age 91, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at home. John was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of West Catholic High School. John was a retired Lieutenant for the Philadelphia Fire Department, for 27 years, until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of the Local 22 IAFF Philadelphia Fire Fighters. Mr. Zwijsen was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Glen Mills, PA. John enjoyed woodworking, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Henry and Jacoba (Boekhooven) Zwijsen; brother of the late Maria Steinmetz. Survivors: Wife of 67 years: Elizabeth Dreyer Zwijsen 2 Daughters: Elizabeth Z.
