Obituary of Mary B. Piccione
Mary (Bowles) Piccione, age 98, of West Chester, formerly of Goldthwaite, Texas died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Pocopson Nursing Home of West Chester, PA. Mary was born in Cuero, Texas and was formerly a resident of Middletown Twp since 1963. Ms. Piccione was a graduate of West Texas State Teachers College, Canyon Texas. Mary was employed by Collingdale and Rose Tree Media School Districts. She specialized in hand writing in Elementary and Kindergarten grades.
During World War II, Mary taught fuel systems for B17 and B29 Bombers in Amarillo, Texas. She was a member of the Red Cross from 1944 to 1946, posted in the Philippines and Japan. In 1946-1948, she was an Army Hostess posted to Frankfurt, Germany. Ms. Piccione was a member of Lima United Methodist Church for 35 years. Mary was a woman devoted to her home and family. She enjoyed; painting, playing piano, traveling and playing bridge.

DAUGHTER: Kathryn McCarry of Kennett Square.
