Obituary of Jared W. Darlington

Jared "Jerry" Worrall Darlington, age 82 years, of the Darlington area of Middletown Twp., died on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Born in Middletown Twp., the son of the late Jesse and Ruth Darlington, he was a member of one of Delaware County's oldest families. He was raised on the historic family farm that was an original land grant from William Penn. It was the Darlington family that gave the Darlington section of Middletown Township its name. Mr. Darlington was a graduate of Friends Central and Penn State University. He retired as plant manager from Foamex (formerly a division of Scott Paper Company) after 38 years of service. A former resident and active community member of New Haven, IN from 1969 to 1993. Beloved husband for 50 years of Nancy Dillon Darlington. Devoted father to Sharon Darlington Drewer of Arlington, VA and Jared (Kristine) Darlington of Fishers, IN. Loving grandfather of Jared (Will) Darlington, Madeline Darlington and Ava Drewer. Also survived by a sister Barbara Garrett of Ringoes, NJ and a brother Jesse M. Darlington of Boalsburg, PA. Preceded in death by son-in-law William Drewer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Media-Providence Friends School, 125 West Third Street, Media, PA 19063 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
