Obituary of James S. Albany
James S. Albany, age 95, of Quarryville, PA and formerly of Ridley Park, PA, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Jim was born August 30, 1917 in Chester, PA. He had been a resident of Ridley Park, PA for 40 years, before moving to Quarryville, PA six years ago.
Mr. Albany was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. During World War II, Jim worked with Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, Chester, PA; spending some of his time with the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York.
Mr. Albany also worked with the American Visco, where a good bit of his work required traveling. He then went to work for FMC and Avtex. After his retirement, he worked as a Consultant for many years.
Mr. Albany was a long time member of CrossPointe Church, Media, PA, where he was active serving as an Elder. Jim also was a member of the Gideons for many years.
