Obituary of Ilse Maitland

Ilse M. Halbig Maitland, 91, of Middletown Township, PA, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Belvedere Nursing Home. Mrs. Maitland was born December 15, 1920 in Biebrich, Germany. Ilse met her late husband Harry in January 1946, while he was serving in the US Air Force, stationed in Germany. He rescued her from under a tree during a rainstorm and it was love at first sight. Ilse enjoyed her home and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Most of all, Ilse treasured the times she spent with her family. She was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Charity, Brookhaven, PA. Ilse is predeceased by her loving husband, the late Harry Maitland, Jr., who died in 2002. Ilse was the daughter of the late Johann and Barbara Halbig. SURVIVORS Daughters: Marion I. Bucci of Gilbertsville, PA and Esther W.
