Janice Kerr was my friend. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature.” And Jan was a masterpiece. While she excelled at being a medical administrator, a church leader, a clown ministry founder and facilitator, she excelled at being a true and close friend. We worked together and worshipped together; we laughed together and cried together. She was the sister I never had. Jan was a loyal friend, always eager to lend an ear, share a humorous situation, discuss our faith, and give emotional and prayerful support. When I was faced with physical challenges, in her soft voice she reminded me of Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good to those who love God.” Jan was very precious to me, and I will miss her deeply and dearly.
