Obituary of Thomas A. Reeves

Thomas A. Reeves “Tom”, age 93, formerly of Springfield, Pennsylvania died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Tom is a graduate of Lansdowne High School, continuing his education at Temple University where he obtained a degree in Business. After graduating college, Tom joined the United States Navy. Tom continued his career after the Navy with Nabisco Inc. in the Sales and Marketing department until his retirement in 1992.

In his youth, Tom developed an interest in Boy Scouts which led to earning the Eagle Scout Award. Continuing through adulthood, he achieved the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor for exceptional service. Tom was a lifelong enthusiastic birder and naturalist. His birding list included 635 species in over 43 states. Tom completed the Barnes Arboretum Horticulture Program. He shared his extensive knowledge of birds, trees, flowers, and mammals with students at various local schools and colleges. Tom believes one of the best advantages of being a naturalist was meeting many interesting people along the way. Tom lived by the motto “if it is to be, it is up to me.” Tom was an active member of Reformation Lutheran Church, Media PA.

Son of the late Frank A. Reeves and Henrietta Lewis; Husband of the late Marjorie Decker Reeves and Helen Simmons Reeves; Father of the late Craig and David Reeves.

Bruce Reeves (Karen), Susan Reeves, Michael Simmons (Judy), Sandra Dolan (John)

Sister: Caroline Geasey

Also Survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, a niece, and nephews

Visitation: Tuesday, January 14^th after 10:00AM at Granite Farms Estates, 1343 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 14^th at 11:00AM at Granite Farms Estates.

Interment will be private.
