Nelva was a treasure to all who knew her. She never forgot to wish you the best in all endeavors. She was a true friend from high school through the rest of her life. It was truly honor to know her. She will be missed but I am happy that she is now with the Lord, that her suffering is over.
I first met Nelva at my Donna and Steves wedding, and met her several times since, lastly at Kat and Erik’s wedding. She was always a warm and loving mom, and always checked in on our parents as well as the rest of our family. I know how much she loved her family and friends, and she will be missed by so many. I feel so privileged to have known Nelva. All our love to the family,.
Lou, I will miss you being in my life....we have always stayed close, tho living far away....you and I share our name and our love for elephants...Fly high Nelva Lou...you are with the angels....I love you.
We are extremely fortunate to have had Lou and her family as our next door neighbor for 52 years. As long as we have known Lou, she has always been very friendly, engaging, sincere and optimistic, and it was a real pleasure to be in her company.
Our 16 year old grandaughter Lilia was four years old when she first met Lou. After that visit, Lilia enthusiastically proclaimed that "Mrs. Powell is the sweetest woman in the world!" Since then, when Lilia has been at our home, she has often requested to visit Mrs.Powell.
We are very sad to lose such a great friend and neighbor as Lou. We will always remember her fondly.
