Obituary of Penni Flick

Penni J. Flick “PJ” age, 67, of Aston, PA, formerly of Wallingford, PA, died at home on Monday, March 4, 2024.  PJ was a graduate of Nether Providence High School. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University, where she was in the sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon.

Penni was an active member of the Swarthmore United Methodist Church.

Penni was the Aqua Eagles Swim Coach at Chichester Community Pool for many years and was a substitute teacher at Chichester School District. Penni was employed with the New Castle County Parks and Recreation and received many awards for her projects.

PJ was extremely passionate about helping children. She was an instructor and trainer with the American Red Cross.  She was a Girl Scout Leader with the Girls Scouts of Eastern, PA. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. PJ loved animals and was active in supporting animal rescue and protection.

Daughter of the late William C. and F. Joan (Decker) Flick; Sister of the late Douglas Flick.

Survivors:

Lifetime friends: Karen Breen, Susan (Brian) Irwin and Haley and Ethan Irwin, who affectionately called her Grammy.

Also survived by cousins and many friends.

Visitation; Saturday, March 16th  after 10:00 AM at Swarthmore United Methodist Church, 129 Park Ave., Swarthmore, PA, 19081.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 16th at 11:00 AM at the church.

Interment: Monday, March 18th at 12 noon at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: ASPCA, www.aspca.org and/or any animal shelter of your choice.
