Obituary of Mary Ann E. Danish

Mary Ann Danish (DeAntonio) passed away March 3, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family and friends. Mary Ann was a long-time resident of Glen Mills, PA and former resident of Aston, PA. She graduated from Notre Dame High School. An avid Philadelphia sport fan, she was a Flyers season ticket holder and enjoyed going to games with her husband, Albert, over the last several years to cheer them on. But her true impact in this world was in the local ice hockey community. Known affectionately as “Mary Ann from Ice Works” where she was employed since 1998 and worked for more than 25 years. She was the Tournament director, in house league and Learn to Play coordinator. She was the founder of the Delco Dragons program which gave so many local kids their start on their hockey journeys. Her true passion was introducing young players to the game of hockey through the Learn to Play and Mite hockey programs. Her reward was the smile on each players’ faces. She helped tens of thousands if not more of hockey players enjoy the game she loved so much. If you played or watched any hockey game at Ice Works in the last 25 years, it is very likely you participated in one coordinated by Mary Ann.

Her other love in life was her family. Especially being a mom mom to Anthony and Giuliana. She cherished every birthday, holiday, anniversary, and special event she got to celebrate with all her family and friends. She loved even more planning and taking family vacations. Almost always to the beach, she spent many years going to Avalon, NJ among many other ocean destinations.

She is survived by her loving husband Albert Danish. Together they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 6th, 2023.  Her sons Brian (Dallas) Danish and Eric Danish (Kate Brown). The passion of her life, her grandchildren Anthony and Giuliana. Her brother Joe (Karen) DeAntonio, sister-in-law Cheryl (Wasyl) Baszta, and Bonnie DeAntonio along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews and her Ice Works family. She is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Frances (Chiarieri) DeAntonio and her brother Pasquale DeAntonio.
