Obituary of Helen M. Carey

Helen M.  (Cartwright) Carey, age 88, of Bala Cynwyd, PA, formerly of Dallas and Shavertown, PA, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.   

Helen was born on June 13, 1935. She was a graduate of  Tunkhannock High School.   Helen was a bookkeeper with The Sunday Independent Newspaper. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dallas, PA.

Daughter of the late Moses and Eva (Hopfer) Cartwright; Wife of the late Donald Carey; Sister of the late Robert Zeigler, James, John and Harold Cartwright.

Son: The Rev. Wayne (Karen) Matthias-Long

Daughter: Karen (Michael) Wilson

Also survived by 4 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Granddaughter

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9th, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dallas, PA, with Pastor Charles Grube presiding.
