Eleanor A. Burke, 96, of Media, died November 11, 2023 at Lima Estates. Born in Wallingford, CT and raised in Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE, she resided in Springfield for 37 years before moving to Lima Estates 17 years ago. Mrs. Burke graduated from Pierre S. duPont High School in Wilmington, DE in 1944 and began work in the Trust Department of what eventually became Girard Bank. She also worked for State Farm Insurance in Springfield and Chadds Ford as an Administrative Services Manager, retiring in 1991 after 20 years of service.

For many years, Mrs. Burke was an active member of the Springfield Lioness Club serving as President 2005-2006 and being recognized as a Melvin Jones Fellow of Lions International. More than anything else, Eleanor loved her family and friends and took advantage of every opportunity to make cherished memories with them. Her laugh was unmistakable and infectious.
