Obituary of James H. Smith, Jr.
James H. Smith, Jr. age 76, a lifelong resident of Brookhaven, PA, died on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Jim was born in Chester, PA and was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1964. He attended PMC, now Widener University. Jim was employed in the title insurance business for more than 50 years. He was the owner of Delaware Valley Searches, Inc. Jim was the Brookhaven Borough Tax collector for many years.
Jim was a parishioner of St. John Chrysostom, Wallingford, PA.
Jim was devoted to his family. He cherished the times they spent together. He was especially happy when spending time with his grandchildren.
Husband of the late Patricia M. (Flynn) Smith; Son of the late James H. Smith and Marie (Zimmath) Smith; brother of the late Michael Smith.
Survivors:Sons: James “Jimmy” H. (Carrie) Smith, III, of Sarasota, FL, Jeffrey A. (Denise) Smith of Glen Mills, PA.
Daughter: Kristen (Joe) Kugelman of Brookhaven, PA.
Grandchildren: Gracie, Jillian, Matthew, Luke & Ryan Smith, Madison, Alyssa & Joey Kugelman
Sisters: Trish (Fred) Glessner, Carole (Bud) Lewis
Brothers: Bob (Dolly) Smith, George (Lisa) Smith, Dave (Justine) Smith
Also survived by nieces and nephews and beloved in-laws.
Visitation: Thursday, August 3rd from 6:00-8:00PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
Funeral Mass: Friday, August 4th at 10:00AM at The Church of St. John Chrysostom, 605 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086.
Interment: St. Thomas the Apostle Churchyard.
