Obituary of Samuel J. Shiels

Samuel J. Shiels, age 78, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Colwyn, PA, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Chester County Hospital, after a short battle with cancer. 

Sam was a graduate of Darby-Colwyn High School and Our Lady of Angels College (Neumann University).  He was employed with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical for 35 years, retiring in 1999.  He then launched SJS Consulting Company, continuing to help people.

Sam considered himself an amateur radio enthusiast.  He enjoyed model trains and boating.

Affectionately known as “Gramps” by the ones he loved, he will be dearly missed.

Husband of the late Marilyn B. (Haag) Shiels; Father of the late Samuel J. Shiels, Jr.

Survivors:

Daughters: Beth (Doug) Yori and Robin (David) Bronkema

Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and a special friend, Peggie Wyant

Interment will be private.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
