Obituary of Ralph E. Painter, Jr.

Ralph E. Painter, Jr., age 94, of Middletown Twp., Media, PA, died on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Riddle Hospital. Born on March 13, 1928, he was raised in Philadelphia, PA.  He was a resident of Secane, PA, for six years, prior to moving to Middletown Twp., PA, in 1964.

Educated in the Philadelphia public schools, Mr. Painter was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.  He was last employed by the Winchell Company in Philadelphia for 20 years in its financial printing division, retiring in 1993. Prior to Winchell, he was associated for 10 years with Beck Engraving Company, also in Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Painter was a member of Resurrection Episcopal Church, Aston, PA, where he served as vestryman, treasurer and usher.  He was a long-time member of Lima Fire Company, serving as corresponding secretary. Mr. Painter served in the U.S. Army, in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG). Ralph participated in the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), reading with elementary school children in two county schools. He enjoyed the Jersey Shore, Caribbean cruises and reading.
