Obituary of Donald L. Lyster
Donald L. Lyster, 85, of Wilmington, DE and Media, PA and formerly of Linwood, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Don was raised in West Chester, PA and at the age of 17 enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in World War II as an anti-aircraft artilleryman in the 18th Defense Battalion serving in Tinian and Saipan in the Pacific Theater. Following 35 years of employment with Wyeth Laboratories Donald Lyster retired in June 1987 to pursue traveling with his beloved wife, Blanche (Queen).
While raising his family in Linwood, PA, Don became a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very active in their charitable endeavors. He was also an avid gardener, always lovingly tending to the vegetables and flowers.
Preceding Don in death was his wife Blanche and daughter, Donna Marie.

He will be dearly missed by his two sons and five daughters:
Sons: Mike Lyster (Kathleen) of Douglassville, PA and Joe Lyster of Linwood, PA
Daughters: Barbara Johns of Newark, Delaware, Linda Gebhart (Jim) of Franklinville, NJ, Sandy Coront (Greg) of Media, PA, Sue Hagerty (Lew) of Wilmington, DE and Betsy Graham (David) of Oxford, PA.
