Obituary of Mary Alice Hoffman
With her daughters by her side, Mary Alice Hoffman, passed away peacefully at the Ware Presbyterian Village on July 4, 2022 at the age of 94. She rejoins her beloved husband, “Dick” with whom she shared an enduring love story.
Mary Alice was born on April 26, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to Jessie (Simmermon) and Thomas Johnson. She was a long time, active member of Providence Avenue Methodist Church (where she met her husband), Mount Hope United Methodist Church and Oxford Presbyterian Church, where she lent her melodious voice to their choirs.
She was an avid camper, quilter, a Girl Scout leader and a longtime fan of summers in Ocean City, NJ. Mary Alice always had a smile on her face and she never met a stranger she couldn’t start up a conversation with.
Mary Alice is survived by her three daughters Marilyn Titter (Paul), Michele Turocy (Dave), and Julie DiVittorio (Tom) and her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings Glendora (Johnson) Kilbourne and Thomas Boyce Johnson. Mary Alice loved spending time with her family most. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
