How sad I was to hear of the untimely passing of Mary Diamond. I was introduced to Mary by Gladys Martin at a meeting of the Prime Timers. Mary said she had recently heard a wonderful concert by the Media Chamber Chorale of which I was a member. Mary joined MCC where her beautiful voice and outgoing friendliness were a perfect fit! I heard wonderful stories about her grandchildren when we drove together to rehearsals. My deep sympathy to them and to all of her beloved family!
Dear Bill and Family. I just saw where Mary passed away. I am so sorry. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I was so sad to hear of Mary’s passing. I befriended Mary on the playground of Roosevelt Elementary School where we were both searching for caterpillars. Mary was in first grade and I was in kindergarten. I thought she was very generous to play with a younger kid, but she didn’t mind. One day after school we made brownies. We thought we would do something wildly creative and bold, and put peanuts in the recipe instead of walnuts. No one else was impressed. Mary made everything fun - and funny. I enjoyed my time with her so much.
My memories of Mary go back 60 years from the time I moved into the neighborhood. The Green’s were my new neighbors. It was a sad day because I had left my old friends but then a great day because I instantly had four new girlfriends Betsy, Susan, Mary and Lucy. We had so much fun. The things that we did oh my gosh from camping out in their back yard, playing baseball out in the field, sledding down the back hill, playing in the spring house watching Linville build their new pool and OH the Halloween parties were unbelievable they were the Best.
Now living so far away and hearing this incredibly sad news of Mary passing breaks my heart. God had blessed Mary from the very beginning with musical talents and it sounds like she followed thru with all of those gifts and blessings and made God proud.
I never got to thank Mary or any of the “Green Girl’s” for being my friend back then when I was the new kid and needed a friend.
Thank-you❣️
God has blessed you and will keep you forever Mary.
Mary had an absolutely angelic voice. I always enjoyed singing with her, especially the fun and crazy times we had performing for Prime Time Plus at church. I'll never forget the silliness and fun as we sang "Dream a Little Dream of Me" while two others were holding small signs behind our heads (unbeknownst to us) that had our faces with sleeping caps and silly pajamas. We couldn't figure out why people were laughing! Mary thoroughly enjoyed that, as well as when Lynn B, Mary and I sang a medley of "Old Time Religion" while we wore old hats and hammed it up. She will be dearly missed by many. Rest in peace, dear friend.
No one had a more contagious laugh than Mary. No one was more available to her family and friends than Mary. No one saw promise and beauty in people like Mary. I mourn her passing and grieve her absence from her family and the rest of us. To be her friend, was to be as good as you wish you were.
How lucky I was to have Mary in my life and to call her my friend. She was an inspirational and loving person. She will be missed greatly by my family, and so many others. RIP Mary.❤️ My deepest sympathy and love to her family.
Mary was a bright light to all who knew her. Gone far too soon, she will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace.

I loved my Aunt Mary. So much fun to be around and always very encouraging. I have so many fond memories of getting together with the rest of the Diamond family. Whether at Mom-Mom and Pop-Pops, Christmas Eves, Beach Trips to Stone Harbor, Knoebles…. Whatever we did as a family you could always hear Aunt Mary having fun. it was hard to not smile and laugh when you were with her. You will surely be missed on this earth, but now you are singing along side angels in heaven! I love you. Bryan
Bill, Jackie, Jonathan, Meredith and families, my heart is broken with the loss of Mary! She loved you all and shared her love with so many! I’m grateful for every minute I had with her! We are all so blessed to have her and now to know she’s not suffering.
Mary and her family hold a special place in my fond memories of growing up in Media. She was an honorary “big sister” to all of Lucy’s friends. Mary remained an ageless source of effervescent joy sweeping everyone up in her warmth.
Her irreplaceable spirit lives on in so many hearts.
May her memory be a blessing to all who loved her, always.
Mary and I meet when we were 12 years old and have stayed life long friends. The memories of childhood silliness and growing up to adulthood with continued love and laughter Mary will be missed. Her life was full and I am so glad to be a part of it.love. snow will always bring a " special memory " the challenge was put out to go outside and make snow angels...like we did as kids. The challenge was met! Now I will remember her as a special Snow Angel. Let it snow...let it snow! Love Marianne Bechtel Sheils
