Obituary of Gladys Mae Martin
Gladys Mae Martin, age 99, of Middletown Twp., Media, PA, formerly of Rosemont, PA, died Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, PA. Gladys was born June 4, 1922. She was a graduate of Pittsburgh Conservatory of Music, Class of 1951.
Gladys was a proud U.S. Navy Wave Veteran, serving during WWII.
Gladys was a Music Teacher and Director of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Weekday School. She was a private piano teacher and taught piano at the Main Line School Night.
Gladys sang in the choirs of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church and Middletown Presbyterian Church. She was a piano accompanist for Sunday School. She was involved in the Child Evangelism Release Time Programs and adult fellowship groups.
Gladys was extremely active in the community. She was a member of the American Legion Smith-Howard Post No. 93, Media Women’s Club and the Keystone Women’s Veterans. She participated in the Veterans Day and Memorial Day Parades in Media, PA. Gladys spoke about WWII and Veterans at area schools, libraries and organizations. She was a guide at the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum in Media, PA. Gladys received the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association and Delaware County Council Freedom Medal Award for dedication to our Country.
Daughter of the late Edwin and Clara (Riedinger) Hoffmire.

Beloved God Daughter: Gini (Tom) Kieffer
Visitation: Saturday, June 4th from 3:00-4:30PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
Military Honors will be held at 4:30PM.
Interment: Private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Pennsylvania Veterans Museum, 12 E. State St., Media, PA 19063.
