So sorry for your loss- your Dad sounds like he has a wonderful life and was a gift to all that knew him- that being said- your grief and loss will be great- it's tough- but remember the memories and be prepared to feel the pain that comes with loving someone
Rick was my platform tennis partner at Waynesborough for twenty or so years from 1988 until illness prompted him to put his paddle away. He was a great partner with an upbeat attitude and exemplary good sportsmanship. In the years since “retiring” from paddle, Rick never saw me without stopping to say “hello” and ask how I was. It will be sad no longer seeing him, but many terrific memories will linger.
Rick was a great person and great boss at Verizon. Very fair, very good listener, and very interested in each and every member of his team.
Bonnie, We were so sad to hear of Rick’s passing. Our thoughts, prayers and love to you and your family. Hugs, Lois and Bing
I’ll never forget attending a Delaware Blue Hens football game with Courtney, Grandad and Bibi. I was shocked to see that after all these years they still made the tradition of going to see the football game and tailgating at the stadium with Delaware friends. Grandad all smiles as usual… I was so inspired by their enthusiasm for life and I remember thinking that I’d love to be this way one day with my partner when I reach their age. He will be missed!

I am honored to be a part of the amazing Mainwaring Family. I saw the hard work on Mulch Day. Everyone went inside when we finished but Rick still had his boys outside hosing off the remaining mulch from the driveway. He was a hundred percenter for sure. I always looked so forward to seeing him drive out of the barn in his backhoe and secretly wanted to ask him if I could drive it. But I think everyone knew it was his vehicle and he was the one who knew what to do. Plus he looked so great on that thing. It was a real joy.
