Obituary of Alexander G. Shaw, Jr.
Alexander Gordon Shaw, Jr., “Alex”, age 98, of Middletown Twp., Media, PA, formerly of Folsom, PA, died peacefully at home with his loving wife of 76 years by his side on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Alex was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Ribbon.
Mr. Shaw was the owner of Shaw Fuel Oil for 35 years, until retiring in 1981. He was the building inspector for Morton Savings & Loan. Alex served as President of West View Shores Civic Association, and he was cofounder of Ridley Twp. Swim Club.
Alex was a life member of Folsom Fire Company. He was a former member of Northeast River Yacht Club and the LuLu Yacht Club. He also was a lifetime member of Shriners and Knights of Pythias.
Alex was an avid boater and enjoyed traveling with his family. He loved animals, especially dogs. He cherished any family events and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Devoted son of the late Alexander G. and Lena (Magnier) Shaw, Sr., predeceased by his four sisters, Florence, Mildred, Louise and Jessie.

Wife of 76 years: Catherine C. Shaw
Sons: Alexander G. Shaw, III “Gordon” and David B.(Kenda) Shaw
Daughter: Barbara J. Hayes (Roger)
Grandchildren: Jennifer (Robert), Lindsey, Jason, Brian, Kevin and Leanne
Great-Grandchildren: Cole, Jason Jr., Gabriel, Jacob and Mia
Also survived by beloved nieces and nephews
Services and Interment will be private.
