Obituary of Edward J. Long, Sr.

Edward J. Long, Sr., “Big Ed” age 62, of Upland, PA, formerly of Chester, PA, died suddenly on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Ed was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1977. Ed was employed at Congoleum Corporation in Marcus Hook, PA for more than 44 years, where he was the Union President with USW Local #12698. Ed was a member of the Upland AC, where he was active with football, basketball and coached softball. Mr. Long was the PTO President with the Main Street Elementary School. He was a devoted member of Ridley Park United Methodist Church, where he was an active Trustee. Ed was an avid college football fan, especially Notre Dame. He enjoyed bowling and was a trivia master, challenging himself with Jeopardy regularly. Most of all, he was devoted to his family. Son of the late John Curtis and Mary Agnes (McKniff) Long. Husband of the late Bonnie Long; brother of the late Margie King, Jimmy Long, Johnny Long, Billy Long, Freddy Long, Rocky Long, Vincent Long and Sally Evans. Survivors: Daughters: Tiffani Long, Amanda (Tom) Hawkins Son: Edward J. (Paula) Long, Jr. Brother: Tommy Long Sisters: Mary Kefalas and Clara Wannyn Also survived by nieces and nephews, including Katelyn and Kyla Funk, Dawn Goodman and loving in-laws and many other family members Services and Interment will be private.
