She was born April 14, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, and educated in the Philadelphia public schools. After graduation from Olney High School in 1948, Mrs. Canning worked for Rohn & Haas Company – first in the Accounting Department and then as a PBX Operator. She retired at age 65.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Canning was a Charter Member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Aston, where she was active for many years as a member of the church choir, as a teacher in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Catechism classes, and in many of the women’s activities. She was a long-time member of the Aston Senior Citizens Club, and was a former Secretary and then President of the Club. She was also previously active in delivering Meals on Wheels. But the most important part of Anna’s life was her family.
