Obituary of Gertrude C. Hart
On Thursday, December 3, 2020, Gertrude “Trudy” Hart (Raupp), 79, of Media, passed away with family by her side. She was the beloved daughter of the late Norman Raupp, Sr. and Gertrude Raupp (Breyer). Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in Drexel Hill and graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1959. She earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1962. She began her career as a nurse at Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH), went on to be the office manager at Hart Associates, and finished her nursing career working on the rehabilitation floor of DCMH, retiring in 2012.
Trudy was a member of Media Presbyterian Church and enjoyed games, reading mystery novels, gardening, and horseback riding. She looked forward to her annual vacation with family in Avalon, New Jersey. She was an avid traveler, lover of all animals, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. As a lifelong Christian, she felt the call to serve others deeply through activities like volunteering, caring for loved ones, and donating to various organizations.
She leaves behind her two daughters Michele Hart Kania (Matthew) of Chadds Ford and Kelly Hart (Nicholas Manuele) of Alberton, Montana; three nieces Cheryl Raupp Kyle of Moodus, Connecticut, Alicia Raupp Pacewicz of Deale, Maryland, and Amanda Aronson (Scott) of West Hartford, Connecticut; grandniece Hannah Osborne of Los Angeles, California; and grandnephew Nathanial Aronson and grandniece Maia Aronson, both of West Hartford, Connecticut. She also leaves behind her former spouse and friend, William James Hart, DO, of Media as well as her two cats, JJ and Suzy, and beloved horse, Jet. She was loved by all who knew her. Trudy was predeceased by her brother, Norman Raupp, Jr.
A celebration of life is planned for Spring of 2021.
