Obituary of Arlene Moyer

Arlene Moyer, age 93, died peacefully of natural causes and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020. Arlene is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Ellen & William Renninger, 3 brothers and 8 sisters. Mom/Grandma is already being missed by her daughters, Deb Gera and husband Dave, Cindy Peters and husband Kirk, Pam Colflesh and by her son, Rick Moyer and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Jackie Porter and husband Tim, Christy Colflesh and fiancé, Pat Clancy, Rachel Moyer, Ryan Moyer; great-grandchildren, Graeme Porter and Gavin Porter. In addition, she will be missed by nieces, nephews and so many friends!! Mom was also preceded in death by many grand-dogs and cats that she loved dearly over the years.

Arlene was born and raised on a farm in New Hanover Township, PA, and also lived in Gilbertsville and Brookhaven, PA, until shortly before her death, when she moved to Pottstown, PA. She worked in Boyertown, first with Tung-Sol, then as a seamstress at a lingerie factory, then as a sales person at LeFever’s men’s store and as a housewife. Later in years, she worked for McDonalds, Your Home Art Gallery, Crozer Chester Hospital, Tom Jones Restaurant and Wawa. She was also an active member at the Reformation Lutheran Church, Media, PA.

Arlene was active in Brookhaven Seniors for many years and she very much enjoyed playing cards with lots of different friends at the Parkside, Upland and Aston Senior Centers, as well as with other friends who got together regularly. In her earlier years, she spent time with her siblings, nieces and nephews, traveled whenever she had the opportunity, went to many amusement parks to enjoy those roller coasters, played lots of miniature golf, happily racked up many hours of baby-sitting, participated in a line-dancing group to entertain seniors and, of course, attended her family reunion every year, which has been in existence for 77 years.

Visitation: Thursday, August 12th from 9:30-10:00AM at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 102 West Rose Tree Rd., Media, Pa. 19063. Masks required for non-vaccinated persons; also required when singing for all persons. RSVP requested for Church Service to Cindy (817) 781-0321

Funeral Service: Thursday, August 12th at 10:00AM at the Reformation Lutheran Church.

Interment: Thursday, August 12th at 1:00PM at Fairview Cemetery, 317 West Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA, 19512
