Obituary of Myron S. Kowall

 

Myron S. Kowall, age 99, of Woodlyn, PA, died peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at home.  Born in Chester, PA, he was a graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1937, and attended PMC (Widener).  Myron was employed at Baldwin’s of Eddystone from 1941-1972, and then Gulf Oil Refinery, Philadelphia until his retirement.

 

Mr. Kowall was a US Navy Veteran, serving during WWII, receiving the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.

 

Myron was a lifetime parishioner of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.  He enjoyed cooking ethnic foods and gardening. Most of all, he was devoted to his family.

 

Son of the late Steven and Mary Kowall; husband of the late Anne Kostyk Kowall, who died in 1993; father of the late Baby Kowall, who died in 1948 and Steven Kowall, who died in 2008; brother of the late Russell, Theodosia, Anne and Eileen.

 

Survivors:

Children: Myron (Joanne), Jean (John), Anne (John), Gregory (Michelle) and Laurie (Joseph)

Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchilren

Sister-in-law: Edna Mielcarek

Visitation: Friday, November 29th from 10:00-10:45AM at St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2412 3rd Street, Chester, PA 19013.

 

Funeral Mass: Friday, November 29th at 11:00AM at St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

 

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
