Our prayers to Penni, and we enjoyed your Dad's friendly neigborhood friendship here in Winterset Farms living across from him. Had many conversations and loved hearing his opinions on various subjects. Wayne Smith also sang with him a brief time span in the choir. I'm sure he'll most likely be in a choir in heaven as well. Again, my God's strength and comfort be with you.
My sympathies to Penni. Bill was a fine man who I first new when I was at the Southeast National Bank Office in Lower Chichester. He was principal at Linwood when my daughter was in Kindergarten.
May our Lord Jesus give his daughter Penni, comfort and love.

We first met Bill & Joan on the trip to Portland, Oregon in 1994. The National that year sponsored an "Oregon Trail" starting on the east coast, coming through Kansas City, Mo. and ending in Portland. We hooked up with the group of about 60 campers that ended the "Oregon Trail" for that National Square Dance Convention. We found out that Bill and Joan were running for USDA Eastern Region Vice President. We were running for Treasurer. We became fast friends. Our 25 year friendship has been mostly revolved around square dance conventions, but always a happy time. I loved sending Bill Christmas cards and when I forgot at Christmas he got a Happy New Year card. We hated to see him retire from USDA, but totally understood his desire to "bow out" on his own terms. He always talked about singing at the baseball games, his daughter, his love of teaching. Bill will be missed.
I only got to know your dad the last few years through Sellers Senior Center. He was a darn good canasta player and I enjoyed sharing teacher stories with him. Having lost my mother last summer, I feel they both are at peace and resting comfortably. Family and friends will help you through this tough time. Take care. 5b5dQ
Penni,
It was my pleasure to know your father during his last years with USDA. He had quite the personality and was a charming gentleman. I bet he was a wonderful principal and very good with children. I wish I had know your mother as he always spoke so fondly of her. And of course, he was proud of you, too.
I sorry for your loss but like to think there will be better days again for you both.
Fondly,
Pat Inglis
