Obituary of Gilda Duffy

 

 

Gilda “Jill” Duffy, age 89, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019.  Jill was born in Chester, PA but recently lived in Wallingford, PA and previously in Cape May, NJ.  She was employed by Medford Meats, waitressed throughout Delaware County, was a professional photographer, licensed cosmetologist, owned Jill’s Apparel in Woodlyn, PA, and most recently was a Tour Coordinator for Golden Age Festival in Cape May.  Jill’s hobbies included making porcelain dolls, crocheting, playing the organ and country line dancing.  She loved cooking and entertaining friends and family in her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

 

Jill was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Mary (Francise) De Frank, wife of the late Joseph H. Duffy, sister of the late Joseph DeFrank and Anne Ciallella, and aunt of the late Gerald Luce.

 

Survivors include daughters Fran (Joe) Scartelli of Radford, VA and Pat (Tom) Bello of Brookhaven, PA; grandchildren Nicole (Anthony) Sykes of Dublin, VA , Joe Scartelli of Roanoke, VA; great-grandchildren Jax and Cole Sykes of Dublin, VA; sisters Mary Dziekan, Lily Bromall, Rosalie Bennett, Tammy De Frank; brother-in-law Tony Ciallella; devoted cousin, Morris De Frank, whom she loved like a brother, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

A special thank you to Dr. Rodney Elkin, Dr. Scott Hubosky and devoted home health nurse, Karen Ruditys, who truly was an “angel on call”

 

Visitation: Saturday, August 17th after 9:30AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds. Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 17th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

 

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery.
