Obituary of Joseph A. Becker, Jr.

 

Joseph A. Becker, Jr., age 88, of Secane, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at The Residence of Glen Riddle of Media, PA. Joe was a graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic Boys High School.  Mr. Becker retired from PECO in 1991, after 37 years as a lineman and troubleman.  Joe was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

 

Joe loved to spend time splitting wood and stoking his fireplace. He enjoyed rooting for the Eagles and watching NASCAR and a good cup of coffee. Most of all he loved visits from his family on the weekends.

 

Son of the late Joseph A. and Katherine Becker, brother of the late Mary Hyde.

 

Survivors:

Sons: John (Taube), James, Joseph (Debbie), Robert (Terry) and Chris (Linda)

Grandchildren: Jaime, Allison, Kimberly, Cheryl, Walter M., Bobby, Jr., Emily and Christopher

Great-Grandchildren: Alexei, Lily and Lyla

 

Visitation: Thursday, February 14th from 10:00-11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

 

Funeral Service: Thursday, February 14th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

 

Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery, Milmont Park, PA.
