Obituary of Helen L. Koch

Helen Lamont Koch, 94, a longtime resident of Aston, passed away peacefully at Granite Farms Estates in Media on August 8, 2018.

 

Helen was born in 1924, and was raised on Parkway Avenue in Chester, PA.  She attended church at First Presbyterian Church, and was educated at Wetherill School and Smedley Junior High School, graduating from Chester High School in 1942.

 

During the war, she was employed at the American Viscoe Company in Marcus Hook, working in the Jet Department. She was later employed with Kelly Services, where she worked at Scott Paper. In addition, she did volunteer work at Riddle Memorial Hospital and Crozer Chester Medical Center.

 

In 1946 she married Lt. Albert Vernon (“Fritz”) Koch, who served in the Army Air Corps. They resided in Chester and Linwood before settling in Aston, where they raised two sons.

 

They were longtime attendees at Second (now Aston) Presbyterian Church, and also attended Middletown Presbyterian Church and Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Wallingford.

 

They resided in Aston for 47 years, when, after Mr. Koch’s passing, she moved to Granite Farms Estates in Media.

 

She is predeceased by parents David and Mattie Lamont, brothers, James and David, and sisters Margaret Blank and Harriet Nichols.

 

She is survived by sons Wayne Vernon (Beth) Koch, and James David (Karen) Koch, and many nieces and nephews.
