Obituary of Helen A. Anthony

 

Helen A. (Gahres) Anthony, age 88, of Aston, PA, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.  Helen was employed with Spear Brothers, American Viscoe and then Habbersett for 10 years, until retiring in 1982.  Mrs. Anthony was an active and loyal member of the Middletown Baptist Church. At church she was involved in the Choir and the  Missionary Circle, she was the first woman trustee and the first woman moderator, a deacon and a worship leader.  Helen was also involved in Christian Clowning.  Mrs. Anthony was a volunteer at Crozer Chester Medical Center.  Most of all she was devoted to her home and family.

 

Wife of the late J. Edward “Ed” Anthony; grandmother of the late William Welk and predeceased by 6 siblings.

 

Survivors:

Daughters: Donna (Ted) Grove of Surprise, AZ, Judy (Phil) Fanguy of Aston, PA and Debbie (Rick) Welk of Aston, PA.

Brother: Frank Gahres

Sister: Lydia Rebuck

10 Grandchildren

12 Great-Grandchildren

Also survived by nieces and nephews

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 28th at 11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

 

Visitation: Saturday, July 28th after 9:30AM at the funeral home.

 

Interment: Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.
