Obituary of S. James Bottone

S. James Bottone "Buster", 73, passed peacefully with his family by his side on December 10, 2010 in Treasure Island, FL after a 6 month battle with cancer. Mr. Bottone was born in Chester, PA on September 23, 1937, he graduated from St James High School and LaSalle University in 1960 with a BS in Marketing. He worked for ER Squibb in Washington, DC and Virginia Beach, VA as a pharmaceutical representative. The family moved to Yardley, PA after he was promoted to a Marketing and Sales position in the New York office. A few years later he became VP of New Products and Acquisitions with Revlon in New York City and the family moved to Weston, CT where they lived for 10 years before moving to Treasure Island, FL in 1980. He was the owner and President of International Business Resources, Inc. a consulting firm and Vice President and owner of JIT components until 2003. He was currently working along with his wife, at Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty. Jim was a loving husband and father and adoring grandfather. He was the rock of his family, and the center of his large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his many friends and remembered for the way he lit up a room and regaled people with his wonderful, funny stories. He loved tennis, fishing and screaming at the Buccaneers on Sunday, but his greatest pleasure was cooking gourmet meals for his family and many friends. He was a Cub Scout leader and baseball coach for many years in Connecticut and was loved as "Papa Pasta" because his home was always open to family and friends where he entertained all With plenty of love, food and laughter. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Palms of Pasadena Hospital and Gulf Coast Oncology for the tender and considerate care they gave him and his family in his last days. Son of the late James Anthony Bottone, who was sales manager at Hastings Chevrolet in Linwood until 1965.
