Obituary of June L. Roberts

June L. (nee Newcomer) Roberts, 85 , of Aston, PA, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Schuylkill Haven, PA, she had been a resident of Aston for 60 years. June was a graduate of Mahanoy Twp. High School, Class of 1942, and was the Head Majorette of the High School Band. She was an Avon Representative for over 30 years. June was a member of Life Church, formerly known as Aston Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and was involved with Pioneer Girls. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Golden 39ers, the Aston Seniors, and was a volunteer at Longwood Gardens. June was an extensive traveler and celebrated her 80th birthday with a Hot Air Balloon Ride in New Mexico. In her later years, June dedicated herself to helping other seniors but most of all was devoted to her family. Wife of 51 years to the late Charles Roberts who died on May 16, 1997; mother of the late Diana Poiesz; sister of the late Lamar Newcomer..
