I am terribly sorry to learn of the passing of Joyce Schreffler. I worked with her son, Ken, at the Downingtown Area Senior Center and met Joyce at a holiday gathering that I was very kindly invited to. I very much enjoyed talking with her. She was interested in everyone and everything, and very intelligent and well-read. What a great loss for her family and everyone who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace in the arms of the angels.

Dear Jack and family,

Carol Chacosky, my friend from Springfield and now Riddle Village told me the very sad news that Joyce has passed away. We were classmates at Duke, lived in different dorms, but both Pennsylvania girls who knew each other well, and the only two from our class who lived in Springfield. In fact, we both lived on corners of Norwinden Drive in the 60's, and that is where we re-connected. And then you moved to Rose Tree and we bought our house on North Rolling Road in Springfield. We were both teachers as well. Jack, you were our podiatrist, My husband, Tom served on the Springfield Hospital Board, and we were members of Covenant Church for 8 years. Your musical group performed at Riddle Village, and I spoke to you there and after that I completely lost track of you and Joyce. We went to many Duke reunions and I remember clearly that you and Joyce finally attended our wonderful and memorable 50th in 2003.

Tom and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family, and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
