Obituary of Margaret H. Williams

Margaret H. Williams, age 85, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Born in Plains Township in Luzerne County, to the late William and Jessie Hepburn Hewitt. Margaret graduated from Plains Memorial High School. Upon graduation, she worked as an accompanist in the studio of Prof. Edward Bonstein, where she studied voice and piano. After her marriage, Margaret moved with her husband to Arlington, Virginia, where they resided until 1956, when her husband was transferred to the Philadelphia area. She lived in Aston until July, 2015, when she moved to Sunrise Assisted Living of Westtown, near her daughter. Mrs. Williams was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, where she was active in Sunday School, Bible School, the sanctuary choir, the children's choir and the JOY Singers. She also served on the Worship Committee. In 1970, she was employed at Benchmark School as an administrative assistant, retiring in 1996. Wife of 63 years to the late Richard J. Williams; sister of the late William and John Hewitt; aunt of the late William Hewitt. Survivors: Daughters: Linda (Richard) McGuire of West Chester, PA, and Leslie Leahy of Apollo Beach, FL. Grandchildren: Kevin (Stefanie) McGuire, Kristi (Mark) Steficek, Kelly Leahy and Terry Leahy Great-Grandchild: Madison Margaret Steficek Two nieces and one nephew Memorial Service: Friday, November 4th at 11:00AM at Mt.
