Obituary of William R. "Bill" Atkins

William R. "Bill" Atkins, age 71, went to be with the Lord on October 1st, 2016. Bill was a lifelong resident of Upland, PA. He retired from Boeing in 2007, after 27 years of service. Bill was a volunteer fireman with Upland Fire Company #1, for the past 40 years. Among his many interests were home improvements especially on his beloved cabin, "Camp Izzyat" in Potter County, PA., where everyone was invited to share in memorable fun times together. Bill was always available to help anyone in need, regardless of the time or labor involved. Bill's family and his many friends loved him dearly and will be sadly missed by all. Bill was predeceased by his parents Norman W. and Carrie L. Atkins and his sister-in-law Mary C. Atkins. Survivors: Daughter: Cheryl (Joseph) Malick Son: Mark Atkins Brothers: Norman S. (Christina) Robinson Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins Funeral Service: Thursday, October 6th at 12:30PM at Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063. Visitation: Thursday, October 6th from 11:00AM-12:30PM at the funeral home. Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
