Obituary of Audrey S. Montgomery

Audrey Stevens Montgomery, age 92, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016. Audrey was born on January 6, 1924, in Chester, PA. Daughter of the late Isaac Moody Stevens and Bertha Newton Stevens. Audrey was a 1941 graduate of Chester High School, majoring in commercial studies. She worked at Sun Oil Company for several years as a secretary in the Metallurgical Department, before starting her family. Audrey and her late husband, Harry B. Montgomery, Jr., made their home in Wallingford, PA. Audrey was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chester, PA, and served on many of the church's committees during her life. She loved singing in the church choir and did so for many years. For many years, she volunteered with the American Red Cross, helping with their blood drives. Audrey was also an active member of the Brookhaven Women's Club. As an advocate for animals, she supported several animal organizations. Audrey thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Isaac Moody Stevens, Jr. Survivors: Sons: H. Bradley Montgomery, III and his wife Donna D. of Mohnton, PA and Robert Stevens Montgomery and his wife Donna M. of Sea Isle City, NJ. Funeral Service: Thursday at 11:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063. Interment: Private.
